Principal Corner
I was reading the book of Samuel, chapter 27, where David is fleeing Saul and decides to go to the land of the Philistines. The king gave him and all the people with him a town to live in. David goes out with his men and raids towns of people that are friends of the Philistines, but David tells the king he is raiding towns in the Negev of Judah. Based on this misinformation the king thinks wrongly that David has become “odious” to his people and will be his servant forever. I had the thought that most leaders probably become odious to some of the people under them. Well after I looked up odious, I realized that it is a very strong word meaning extremely unpleasant or repulsive so maybe not odious, but as a leader you will ruffle some feathers of those under you. My father was a pastor and I have been aware of this to some extent as a child and in the 38 years of ministry I have experienced it firsthand. We are human and we will have conflict with others, you get this when people are very passionate about ministry. But we must put that aside and realize we are all in ministry together. We may not agree with someone else’s opinion or ideas, but we should be open to listening and hearing them out. We should pray to God for guidance and for wisdom so that we can make the right decision, even if it means that we need to agree with the person who we disagreed with. Working together is what ministry is all about, and working together solves many more problems than fighting amongst ourselves will ever do. We may not always agree in the church, but we need to agree that God comes first and we are His servants, do His will on this earth.
FRIENDLY REMINDERS:
Arriving at school before 8:10 am, please go through the gym unless you are a Preschool parent.
At the end of the day, please remain outside and wait for your student. They are released at 3:05 pm.
When a child is going to be absent, please send a message via Procare (it gets to both the teacher AND the office) OR make sure you are sending a message to both the teacher and the office if not using Procare.
Children cannot be in the school without an adult present. If they are, it is defaulted that they are signed into SAC. There are many different circumstances and we will accommodate whenever necessary.
