Principal Corner

For Lutheran School’s Week, the committee planned to let students wear slippers if they brought $1 in for chapel. That morning as my grandsons came to school, one of them realized, after their dad had left, that it might be the day to wear slippers. He asked me if it was slipper day, and I said, “Yes, if you bring in a dollar.” He said, “I don’t have a dollar.” I reassured him I would lend him a dollar, and then I changed my mind and said I would give him a dollar. He replied, “Really?” I thought to myself, don’t you know I would do almost anything for you? I wondered why he was surprised that I would give him a dollar. Then I thought to all the times I had doubted God’s message for me, and how so many people doubt God’s message of His unconditional love for them, and God will forgive our sins when we come to Him and repent of our sins. That is one of the main things we teach at TLS, that God is there for us, He loves us more than we can imagine. So much that He sent His Son, to die for our sins. As we approach Holy Week, and Easter, we not only celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, but how much God loves us, and He loves us each and every day that we walk this earth.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

  • Arriving at school before 8:10 am, please go through the gym unless you are a Preschool parent.

  • At the end of the day, please remain outside and wait for your student. They are released at 3:05 pm.

  • When a child is going to be absent, please send a message via Procare (it gets to both the teacher AND the office) OR make sure you are sending a message to both the teacher and the office if not using Procare.

  • Children cannot be in the school without an adult present. If they are, it is defaulted that they are signed into SAC. There are many different circumstances and we will accommodate whenever necessary.

IN THE CLASSROOM:

During Lutheran Schools Week - the kids were challenged with bringing $1 and this meant they could wear slippers for Pajama Day! Well they did great! With chapel money & the $1 challenge, we brought in $128.27 for the school in Garuna!

CHAPEL OFFERING

In February we collected offering for Hearts for Jesus and we will continue that for MARCH - where we have a specific mission we work to raise money through collections. This year we are helping raise money for school furniture in Garuna, Cambodia so that children can go to school and hear the word of God. (see flier below for examples). So far we have raised enough money for a book case and a wooden desk and bench set! What else can we get for their school? AND GREAT NEWS! We have been challenged by the Board of Outreach! They will MATCH our offering for March to give to the school! Let’s see how much we can raise! We have raised in March a total of $128.27 so far and between March & February $325.15!
