Principal Corner
This past weekend we celebrated Easter, and you probably were greeted with the phrase, “He is Risen!” Which we then responded back, “He is Risen indeed, Alleluia!” As we spread the Easter joy with the message that our Savior had risen, I was struck by the difference of the people that first Easter. When they went to the tomb and found it empty, they did not go around telling everyone, they went back to their homes, not telling anyone as stated in Mark 16:8 “And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.” They were not sure what to do, Jesus had predicted his death and resurrection, but now what is going to happen? Not telling anyone about Jesus is not a great way to start a church or bring people to know their Lord and Savior. God’s timing is always perfect. Jesus was with them for 40 days before he ascended into Heaven. Then 10 days later they received the gift of the Holy Spirit and then boldly proclaimed Jesus’ death and resurrection, and the church grew in numbers. Waiting on God’s timing can be difficult, but we know His timing is always perfect. As things are going on in our lives whether our individual lives or our “Trinity life”, we know that God will be with us and do what is necessary for us. God loves us so much He was willing to send his Son to suffer and die for our sins and then to rise on Easter morning so we can proclaim, He is Risen, He is Risen indeed, Alleluia!
