Principal Corner
While driving to a soccer game and listening to the radio, I heard a speaker talk about two trees that grew in the same area. One grew next to the river and was lush and green, the other grew away from the river and got little water. When a storm came and water rose and flooded the area where both trees grew, the tree by the river was uprooted and carried away, but the other tree stood firm. What was the difference between the trees. The tree that grew near the river always had plenty of water, so the roots were shallow, the other tree had to send its roots deep to get the water it needed. This got me thinking about the lives of people and my own life in particular. Mrs. Stockman would often refer to my upbringing as growing up Beaver Cleaver. My mom was a stay-at-home mom, who had baked goods for us on a regular basis. I grew up in church, but I never had many hardships or trials in my life. Looking back, I was like the tree by the river. I was always around Christians and God’s word, life was really fairly easy, so there was no need for deep roots to grow. Several years back, I was going through some trials in my personal and professional life, and it brought me closer to God. I started daily reading devotions and the Bible. I have now read through the entire Bible and am reading through it again. My roots are growing deeper, and I am more anchored in the word of God. God was preparing me for going through cancer and a major surgery, so that I could face those problems with the Peace of God. Make sure your roots are growing deep, to help you survive those trials in your life. Spend some time with God, reading his word, talking to him in prayer and gathering together with fellow believers. It will be time well spent.

PTL will provide a free water bottle to each student and will sell treats and Gatorade at a concessions stand.
Volunteers will be needed. Check out the SignUp Genius that was sent out to sign up where you can help: Fun Run
PTL is in need of goodies for concessions at the Fun Run. If you have bars or cookies or other treats, please let Tina Schoenfeld (email: trinityjanesvilleptl@gmail.com) know and bring them pre-cut to the multipurpose room by Friday morning, of Sept 22nd.
We hope you can join us for this fun event!
Be Ready for Some Fun at the FUN RUN!!!
Camp Omega Retreat for 7th & 8th Grade last week 9/13-9/15
NWEA Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) Testing will take place on and off from September 11-22 for grades K-8. Please be sure your children have healthy breakfasts and adequate sleep. A pep talk about not rushing and reading through the questions carefully would also be appreciated!
MAP Testing presents students with engaging, age-appropriate content. As a student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting up or down in difficulty. As students answer a question correctly, they get a question of higher difficulty. If the students do not correctly answer the question, the next question will be a little lower in difficulty. Through this process, we will get a better idea of what the student knows. This results in a rewarding experience for the student, and a wealth of detailed information for teachers, parents, and administrators.
COMING SOON…..a student corner. Articles written by the students. Ms. Kemp is going to come up with a specific theme or topic and we are going to start having 7th & 8th Graders write a little blurb in the newsletter. Keep your eyes out in the upcoming weeks.
