Principal Corner

For those alive on September 11, 2001, many know the exactly what they were doing and will remember where they were when four American planes were hijacked and flown into targets. As we look back on that day, we also can read about many people who risked their lives racing to the scene and even into buildings to save the lives of people. Many people are listed as heroes for what they did that day, and we are thankful for all who were so willing to try and help their fellow humans. People were not planning on sacrificing their lives for others, but they went about their job, not knowing what the future would hold. Jesus also sacrificed his life for us, but he knew what the ending of his life would be like, and he willingly went ahead. He had the power to come down off the cross and set himself free, but he did not, because if he had we would not be able to be with Him in heaven. Jesus is the plan for salvation for all people and because God loves us so much, God sent His Son to die in our place.

On Sunday, we prayed for all the teachers and the upcoming school year. Our students could also use some prayers specifically for them as they adjust to new things, meet new people, try new things and stretch their minds and attention span to the max!

Remembering 9/11:

A Day of Reflection and Unity at Trinity Lutheran School

Today, at Trinity Lutheran School, we gather to remember and honor the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001. On this solemn day, we pay our respects to the thousands of lives lost and the heroic acts of bravery displayed by first responders and ordinary citizens alike. As a community, we come together to reflect on the significance of this day and strive to foster unity, compassion, and understanding.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11, many classes have organized a series of activities and discussions aimed at encouraging students to deepen their knowledge of this historic event. Throughout the day, teachers will engage their students in age-appropriate conversations, exploring the impact of 9/11 on our nation and the world.
At Trinity Lutheran School, we firmly believe in fostering an environment of respect, compassion, and understanding. We aim to equip our students with the knowledge and empathy necessary to navigate a complex world. On this day of remembrance, we stand united, honor the memories of those lost, and strive to build a brighter and more united future.
May the spirit of unity and compassion that arose from the ashes of 9/11 inspire us all to live with empathy and make a positive difference in the world.

Trinity Lutheran School Parent Teacher League (PTL)
. The PTL is an essential organization that brings together parents, teachers, and staff to work collaboratively towards enhancing the educational experience of our students.
The PTL aims to foster a strong sense of community and support various school activities throughout the year. By organizing fundraising events, coordinating volunteer efforts, and promoting open communication, the PTL strengthens the partnership between home and school.
One of the primary objectives of the PTL is to provide financial support for Trinity Lutheran School. Funds raised will be used to improve facilities, purchase educational resources, and enhance extracurricular programs. By supporting the PTL, you directly contribute to the growth and development of our school community.
We invite all parents and guardians to join the PTL and become active participants in shaping our school's future. As a member of the PTL, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other parents, share your ideas, and actively contribute to initiatives focused on the betterment of our students' educational experience.
Throughout the year, the PTL will organize a range of events such as book fairs, movie nights, bake sales, and fun runs. These events not only serve as fundraisers but also bring our community together, allowing us to celebrate our students and their accomplishments.
As part of the PTL, you can volunteer your time and skills in various capacities. Whether it is serving on a committee, helping with event planning, or offering your expertise in a specific area, your involvement will make a significant difference and demonstrate the importance of parent participation.
The PTL meets every first Wednesday of the month, 7 pm, at the church library! ALL ARE WELCOME!!!

Bus Safety: A Top Priority for Trinity Lutheran School

As responsible educators and caretakers of our students at Trinity Lutheran School, ensuring their safety is our utmost priority, both inside and outside the walls of the classroom. With the daily transportation of our students through buses, we are committed to maintaining a high standard of bus safety protocols. This serves not only to safeguard our students but also to provide parents with peace of mind knowing their children are in good hands. Today the students were able to all board a bus and talk with Tim Engel about the importance of bus safety and go through all the rules!

NWEA Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) Testing will take place on and off from September 11-22 for grades K-8.  Please be sure your children have healthy breakfasts and adequate sleep. A pep talk about not rushing and reading through the questions carefully would also be appreciated!

MAP Testing presents students with engaging, age-appropriate content. As a student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting up or down in difficulty.  As students answer a question correctly, they get a question of higher difficulty.  If the students do not correctly answer the question, the next question will be a little lower in difficulty.  Through this process, we will get a better idea of what the student knows.  This results in a rewarding experience for the student, and a wealth of detailed information for teachers, parents, and administrators.

COMING SOON…..a student corner. Articles written by the students. Ms. Kemp is going to come up with a specific theme or topic and we are going to start having 7th & 8th Graders write a little blurb in the newsletter. Keep your eyes out in the upcoming weeks.
