Principal Corner

Welcome back to school. We had a great first day and we will work to keep building each and every day to make them the best they can be. This year our theme is Lead on Good Shepherd. A lot of times we like to take the lead and say to God, here is where I am going, here is what I am doing, and you just sit back and relax. We may not say it exactly that way, but we make plans without first consulting God and asking for His help. If it would have been up to me, we would have had all of our new teachers hired before the end of the previous school year, but that is not what God had planned. To tell you the truth, I am so thankful that we found quality Christian people to replace the teachers that had left. God knew what He was doing and who needed to be here for the year ahead of us. It is difficult to go through trials in our life, or to have things not work out the way we want or think they should be. But in the end, when we have a moment to look back, you can definitely see the hand of God working through the process. It is sometimes hard to see while you are going through the process, but God is there. He is waiting for us to come to Him with our problems and to lead us to where we need to be. I do not like conflict, and I do not like problems, and when that is going on in my life, I am not very settled. But when these things get worked out, we can look back and see God’s guidance. Past problems have led me to be more dedicated to reading God’s word and devotions. It has helped me be better in prayer, even though I still have a long way to go. And God is ok where we are at, because His goal is to rub away anything that is not of Him, so that God’s image of who we are to truly be, can shine forth for others to see God’s work in us, and to give praise to our heavenly Father! Looking forward to a great year, as we let the Good Shepherd lead us.

Be Ready for Some Fun at the FUN RUN!!!

NWEA Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) Testing will take place on and off from September 16-27 for grades K-8.  Please be sure your children have healthy breakfasts and adequate sleep. A pep talk about not rushing and reading through the questions carefully would also be appreciated!

MAP Testing presents students with engaging, age-appropriate content. As a student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting up or down in difficulty.  As students answer a question correctly, they get a question of higher difficulty.  If the students do not correctly answer the question, the next question will be a little lower in difficulty.  Through this process, we will get a better idea of what the student knows.  This results in a rewarding experience for the student, and a wealth of detailed information for teachers, parents, and administrators.
