Principal Corner
On Sunday, October 15, Pastor Bjornstad was preaching on the parable of the Wedding Banquet. One of the points he made was when the original guests did not arrive, the king sent out his servants to invite anyone, the good and the bad. The following Monday, I was reading my devotion for the morning and it was the story of Ananias and God telling him where he could find Saul, so he could restore his sight. Ananias was sent by God to a man who was persecuting and arresting Christians so he could help him. It got me thinking about my own life. When we think of inviting people to church we probably make a judgement on whether that person is church material. But both that Sunday’s sermon and my devotion made the point of helping and inviting those who we may not think we should invite or who we may think others would not welcome. God is telling us to invite all to church. When Jesus came to live on earth, he went to those in need. To the people that were probably not looked on favorably by society back then. The question at the end of my devotion and the question for all of us to answer is, who is our Saul? Who do we come into contact that we should be inviting to learn about God. It might be the person that really needs God in their lives and who knows what that person may be able to accomplish in the name of Jesus. Well, God definitely knows.
