One and Done!
If you are not familiar, one and done is a term used most often for college basketball players that go to college for one year and then go professional. One year of college and then they are done with college basketball. With the NBA draft coming up in June, college freshman are testing the waters to see if they have a chance to get drafted and be a part of the One and Done group of college players. I am sure there are other things in life where we have the One and Done attitude. Some people buy 1 house and that is the house they stay in the rest of their lives; some people have one child and then they do not have any more. There is one thing in life that should not be one and done. Our faith life is one of those. You cannot attend church once and be done with it. You do only get baptized once and confirmed once, but when those events happen in our lives we are not done. It is the beginning and continuation of the growth of our faith. Faith is not a one and done thing, it is something that should be a major part of our whole life. It should be woven through every aspect of our lives. I was blessed that my father and mother showed this with their lives. My father was a pastor and after he retired at 62, continued to serve churches as a vacancy pastor to the age of 85. My mother sat in the church pew every week, making sure we were behaving and listening to the service and modeling faithful service to the church as a member of many groups and a quilter who made hundred’s of quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She quilted until the time of her death at age 90 and had partial quilts that she was still working on. Our faith is not one and done and the best thing we can do for our children and others, is to be an example of continued faith and service to God and the church till the time Jesus calls us home to heaven.
FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

At the end of the day, please remain outside and wait for your student. They are released at 3:05 pm.
When a child is going to be absent, please send a message via Procare (it gets to both the teacher AND the office) OR make sure you are sending a message to both the teacher and the office if not using Procare.
